Connally’s Dance Workshop, Inc.
Updated Health and Safety Policies as of Monday, June 22, 2020
Per Judge Nelson W. Wolff’s Executive Order*
Dated 17 June 2020 – Effective 6/17/2020 12:01 PM to 6/30/2020
and Mayor Nirenberg’s 8th Declaration of Public Health Emergency
Dated 20 June 2020
1. All persons age 10 and older must wear a mask – covering your nose and mouth - when entering our business establishment. Masks must be worn at times when 6 feet of social distancing is not possible.
2. Faculty must wash their hands with soap and water after entering our business establishment, before working with students
3. ALL who enter will have their temperature taken when entering the studio – if you are sick, you must stay home – if you have a temperature of 100+ that does not lower after acclimating to the building temperature within 5 minutes, you must go home
4. All students will fill out a travel and health questionnaire every time they come to the studio. This form is to be signed by the parent/guardian. This is our contact tracing form which will have their teacher’s temperature recorded at the bottom.
5. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, a pending test, or a failed test, you will not be permitted to enter the studio
6. Social distancing must be maintained – at least 6 feet
7. Face coverings, while encouraged during dancing, are not mandatory if they pose a greater mental or physical health or safety risk – for this reason, we will continue to impose social distancing during class.
*Consistent with Executive Order GA-25 issued by Governor Greg Abbot, no civil or criminal penalty will be imposed on individuals for failure to wear a face covering.
**As the wearing of face masks is voluntary and not mandatory during class, clients will respect the decisions of each individual family regarding their child’s safety (wearing a mask or not). Intimidation or shaming of classmates will not be tolerated. Per the above stated declaration, each student will comply with the physical distancing guidelines in all classes to reduce risk factors.
8. Parents are not to stay in the lobby during your child’s class. If your child is of the age where they need assistance with using the restroom (ages 3-6), one parent may stay in the lobby if they have a mask, utilize hand sanitizer, and social distance from any other person in the lobby.
9. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the front entrance and in each studio for your convenience
10. CDWInc. will continue to sanitize barres between each class when barres are used.
11. CDWInc. will continue to sanitize commonly touched surfaces
12. CDWInc. will continue to utilize its online Square payment system for contactless payment options.
13. CDWInc. will continue to monitor CDC guidelines as they become available.
*Businesses who fail to develop and implement the Health and Safety policy required by this Executive Order within 5 calendar days following the Effective Date may result in a fine not to exceed $1,000 for each violation.

CDWInc. Families:
Below please find the CDWInc. reopening handbook. It shares a lot of details regarding our procedures, our slightly altered schedules and information about recital. Please private message us with questions, if you have any, after reading the entire booklet (11 pages). If your class is scheduled for Google Meet classes, you will receive a calendar invite from connallysdancewkshp@gmail if you are in Miss Jessica's Ballet 1B, or Miss Micaela's Pre-Ballet classes on Mondays. All other classes are scheduled to return in-studio. CDWInc. Faculty and Staff are working hard to make this a pleasant reintroduction to the studio in a safe and healthy manner. We miss seeing our students and look forward to getting back to class. Have a lovely weekend. Classes resume on Monday.

In light of last night's order from the Mayor of San Antonio, Connally's Dance Workshop, Inc.'s physical location is closed through April 9th. We have, however, implemented online classes for our clients through classdojo.com. We will continue to comply with all local authorities and open with it is deemed safe.
I wanted to make sure everyone was connecting to the online program and understanding what to do. Please make sure when you take your classes, you take a video or photo of your classes so your teachers can 1) count you present, and 2) can give you some constructive corrections (as they would in a normal class).
Post your photos and videos in your student's portfolio section. If you are not sure how to do this, I will do my best to help you figure it out.
Thank you to the parents for supporting this effort to keep our students' minds and bodies active in this time of elevated stress and change.
Keeping a routine is important for our students' mental and health wellbeing.

Dear SA Met Ballet & Connally’s Dance Workshop, Inc. Families & Friends,
On Saturday we will return from Spring Break, and like many of you, we are closely following the news about the COVID-19 outbreak. As we think about how to best respond, our goal is to protect the health and safety of our community and to preserve the family-oriented and inspirational qualities that make coming to SAMB & CDWInc. an enriching experience. To that end, I want to share some thoughts and updates with you.
First, SAMB/CDW is a small school with small classes. We are hopeful that we will be able to offer all of our 2020 classes as planned. However, we recognize that the situation is evolving, and things may change. We will continue to communicate frequently, and you can also consult this page. If you have questions or concerns, we invite you to contact us at kconnally@sametballet.org for San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet and connallysdancewkshp@gmail.com/ dance@connallydance.com for Connally’s Dance Workshop, Inc., or we can be reached by phone at 210-650-8810 for SAMB and 210-656-1334 for CDWInc.
In house, we currently have ample amounts of hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, antibacterial soap and cleaning supplies. We will be taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our students by wiping down all barres before and after each class, requiring students to wash their hands with soap and water before class, and wiping down all common surfaces touched by our clients and staff. As per usual, if you are sick – especially with a fever, please stay home for your safety and for the safety of your classmates.
We recognize that individuals and families must make decisions based on their personal situation and comfort. We will be following the advice of local officials regarding keeping our doors open. For studio classes, if we are required to close our doors, we will be looking into virtual classes so that our students may keep up with the dances we are creating for our year-end recital. This is one way for our teachers to remain employed while your children do not lose their connection with their dance studies.
As of now, SAMB’s 3rd Annual Tutu Fun Run (5K and Tutu 2-Miler Run/Walk) at Walker Ranch Historical Park is still a go for Saturday, March 21st at 8:30 AM https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/SanAntonio/SAMetBalletTutuFunRun5K2Miler
Our spring concert, Dance Kaleidoscope, is still planned for Sunday, May 3rd – 2:30 PM at McAllister Auditorium. https://sametballet.org/dance-kaleidoscope
Most importantly, I want to send best wishes to all of you in the days ahead. Be safe, be calm, and be creative – it may be the best medicine of all!
